Running on Empty: Workplace Fatigue – Cindy Leonard

Presentation Abstract Fatigue is a growing problem affecting the workforce. Research estimates that 13% of workplace injuries can be attributed to fatigue, and 43% of Americans admit they may be too tired to function safely at work.

This session will also share real life development and integration of a fatigue management program for an oil field service company, along with fatigue management recommendations and requirements from their client companies.

Speaker Biography
Lisa Robinson, CFLE, is an experienced public speaker with more than 20 years of expertise in successfully addressing behavior change who brings passion and enthusiasm to the topic of transportation safety.

As a Senior Program Manager with the National Safety Council., she works on influencing behavior and policy change through effective and proven strategies to address preventable motor vehicle crashes the job that align with the Council’s transportation initiatives. She serves as a subject matter expert and spokesperson for transportation safety, building strong relationships within the employer and transportation communities, including state governmental agencies.

Lisa works with employers to strengthen their health and safety management systems, by increasing an employer resources and knowledge on transportation safety, comprehensive driver safety programs and implementing policies to decrease their risk and exposure to liability. She works diligently to educate employers about the roadway as an extension of the workplace.

I have one word "Kahoot". She had most of the class playing kahoot on our smart phones, we were competing and answering questions the whole session. I think that is something I can use at my plant.
